Salzkammergut is an area offering great cycling routes along the shores of the lakes, allowing you to put your everyday life on hold for a while. Besides being the area known from the movie The Sound of Music, Salzkammergut has plenty of natural and cultural experiences to offer. Salzburg is full of historical buildings and just a few kilometers out of town, you will experience unique panoramic landscapes.

On this trip, you will pass along 10 beautiful lakes and through small exciting towns and villages as Oberndorf, Gmunden, Bad Ischl, Obertraun, St. Wolfgang and St. Gilgen.
Along the shores of the lakes and river Salzach the terrain is flat, but between the lakes, the landscape turn more hilly. You will mainly cycle along cycling paths in cities, but in the countryside it is mostly dirt roads and beautiful forest trails.
